Today’s letter comes from a man named Dexter Gonda. I met him in Mindanao, which is the largest island in the Philippines. This was back in 2016 when I went on my first mission trip with my mom. Since then, we have been able to keep contact through social media to pray for each other and the ministry that the Lord is doing through each of us. Dexter and his wife are hoping to start a new ministry with some of the tribal people in the south part of the island as well as evangelize with university students. Covid has slowed that down for the time being, but please read what the Lord has continued to do!

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

First of all, I would like to say thank you for your prayers and your faithfulness in serving the Lord. May He continue to bless your ministry and may you continue to inspire Christians around the world through your testimonies and encouragements. So far amidst the pandemic that has struck our world today our church is still growing in grace and love through fellowship in Christ. And what better way to show our fellowship than to continue to do God’s work despite the hardships that we are facing right now. With that, through the leadership, encouragement, and prayers of our pastor, the ministries that we have created still endured until this day. Below are the ministries and wondrous events that our church has participated in during the pandemic until the present:

1. Many church workers are still doing weekend visitation ministry, Discipleship, Follow-up of new converts while still practicing social distancing.

2. Thousands of local people accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour from March until the present

3. The church members are still attending church services and watching livestreams on facebook.

4. Many young people participated in sharing the Gospel through Tarpaulins signages that they have created and displayed through the streets and public buildings.

These are the ministries that we have created and we will continue doing until the blessed day of God’s returning will come. We appreciate you reaching out to us.we hope that you can visit our church someday and you can witness how God has greatly blessed our church in many ways. We will be looking forward to seeing you.

Sincerely,

Bro. Dexter D. Gonda

A few days ago, Dexter sent me this message. If you or your church would like to help, email me!

“If you have immediate friends who would want to donate this kind of stuff…I would appreciate it so much:

?Organ

?100 plastic chairs

?Guitar

?Sound system

?LED TV (for the song lyrics)

?Laptop

Lets just pray… The work is possible if the people have a mind to work.

‘So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.’

  — Nehemiah 4:6 (KJV)”

  1. I’m so thankful to hear the gospel is spreading in the Philippines despite Covid restrictions. The first paragraph of Dexter’s letter sounded a bit like the Apostle Paul might have penned it himself. May the lives and work of the Christians there continue to produce much fruit. “Thousands of local people accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.” Hallelujah!
