Dear Philip,
Hey, bud. It’s you here. Me…us…whatever the correct English would be. Today is March 31. I’m in Battambang, Cambodia at the Zodiac Cafe writing this. It’s raining. My view is Jacob (not a very good view if you ask me lol jkjk). I need to talk to you. I need to ask you something. I don’t want to know who you’ve become. I don’t want to know how you are more gifted and experienced. I’ll find that all out eventually. I just want to know if you have remembered. I want to know where you find reliance.
To the Philip of April 2019:
Have you found your identity in the Giver of your gifts rather than the gifts themselves? Have you invested your time into those around you while you can? Remember all God did for you in Guatemala and live out of the boldness that He can do it all again. I’m praying for you to have courage.
To the Philip of May:
It is the last month of your Race. Have you kept on with endurance? Have you found closure in your run? Ask God if there is something He wants you speak into your family of believers before you all leave each other. Thank Him for this season of life. It was the greatest harvest. I’m praying for you to have peace beyond your soul’s capacity.
To the Philip of June:
You’ve been home in the States now. Have you kept living out in Your freedom? Don’t let the temptations of apathy and slothfulness overcome you. Remember the miracles you have seen. I do not want you to sell yourself short because it’s too hard. Others need to hear of the works of the Lord. I’m praying perseverance over you.
To the Philip of July:
Ah, the newbies are here! Training camp took up most of your month. I sense that you have deep feelings for them. It surprised you how quickly that happened. You see us in them. Did you let the Spirit guide you first and foremost? Did you go to Him in all times of trouble? Don’t allow their hardships to fall on your shoulders but place them at the feet of Jesus. Have you thanked God for your new brothers and sisters who are yearning for more of Jesus? He is so good! Remember how He has transformed you and how He is doing it again. I pray that You have a heart of vulnerability to them and call them to follow the Shepherd’s voice.
To the Philip of August.
You are hurting. You are being attacked. IT’S NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. If I know you, which I think I do, then you are feeling under pressure to be someone with all the answers. You want everything to be going well but it’s not. Remember what Tim told you. Chase after the extraordinary sides of the Holy Spirit. You are in the fire, but you do not have to smell like it. Have you stepped back and just worshiped? Gather the troop. Speak life into those around you at home. Use your time fully. I will pray that you have self-control and true, deep rest and communion with the Spirit.
To the Philip of September:
HOLY $#!+ YOU’RE 20 YEARS OLD!!! Wow you are so old! How do you feel? Ready for retirement yet? It has been one year since the start of your Race in Ecuador and now you have been in Europe on this new journey. Have you loved unconditionally? Have you not only observed the dynamics of the people around you but spoken into them? What does God want to be uprooted in them before new seeds can blossom and flourish? What about in you? Talk with others. Don’t hold it all in to seem strong. I am praying for vision and wisdom to be present in you daily.
To the Philip of October:
Now is the time. Be pursuing. Live out of truth. Set habits that will reap bountifully. Have you been seeking conviction? Have you sought constructive feedback? What could you do better? Ask God to reveal the things in you that aren’t from Him and to confirm in you what is. I’m praying for you to have integrity and intentionality.
To the Philip of November:
If you were to go this whole month without shaving, would you be able to grow anything? Man that would be so cool! haha If you haven’t called the Anderson’s recently, you should. It’s been one year since you were there in Cusco. What is the team going through? Does there need to be some change? Don’t quit. Be there for them; it’s your last month. Have you prepared yourself to go back home without checking out of the present time? How are you approaching it differently this time? I want you to pray for clarity, for prophesy, and for God’s vision for your life and for the Racers as they continue after you leave.
To the Philip of December:
This is where my foreknowledge of the future ends. I hope by now that you have 2020 vision of the future…(Get it? 2020 vision? Next year is 2020… I’m funny, I know.) If you feel overwhelmed, I get it. You have been on this journey for more than 15 months. You have spent 12 outside the US. The US is scary. It is even bleek sometimes. However, remember all the times God has been with you. He still is. Just sit back. Enjoy Christmas and time with family. Enjoy Sabbath. Rest. I’m praying for you to have grace on yourself and on those around you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years, Philip.
To all these Philip’s and all other Phil’s in the future:
I know you get lost in thought, so stop and breathe. Whatever this fire looks, whether it’s tomorrow or when you are 42 and have kids of your own, just rest in the knowledge that we have won! In the name of Jesus all things work together for good. The story has a happy ending. Listen to this song by Rivers and Robots. Read the lyrics. We have overcome so live in the freedom that is yours. Love ya and can’t wait to be ya!

Hello to everyone who is not me! If you would like to help support me in this future of leading others to follow alongside me, donate above! You all mean the world to me. I would not be where I am without you.
I hope you go back and read this. There’s a good bit of wisdom in it.
Also, that pun about 2020 is terrible. (Eye roll inserted here)
Yeah, I hope I remember to go back to this. I have a feeling that I said the right things for the right times. Also, I know you loved the pun cause how could you not?!?!
